"'LZ' in the Sky" is a song about a Vietnam Veteran who takes his Harley out for a late-afternoon ride. Once he arrives at a crest overlooking the ocean he is startled to see the sky full of ghostlike Hueys. He catches a door-gunner's eye and holds up an American flag that he carries in a saddle bag. By this gesture he is saying this is why we were willing to give our lives in Vietnam. But what the rider does not know is the Hueys are angels coming to take him home. "LZ" is a rewriting of the Western Classic, "Ghostriders in the Sky." This anthem has already become a tradition at Veterans events nationwide. Whether recited at a memorial service for a departed friend, or performed live at a Veterans Day celebration, “‘LZ’ in the Sky” touches the warrior’s heart.
